As Christians, part of our job is to be bringing more people to Jesus. We’ve found a new awakening in our church through watching the Winsome Witnessing dvd series.
Witnessing Opportunities
The 1st Sabbath of the month:
We are canvasing our neighborhood in an attempt to get to know our neighbors. We are working through our sister website WholeHealthLifestyle.com to put out a community survey and find the best way to serve them. Part of the driving force behind the surveys, is we are trying to prepare for the Dr. Nedley’s Depression and Anxiety Recovery Program in January, and help as many people learn these healthy ways to beat the blues.
The 3rd Sabbath of the month:
One of our members shared with us a location that enjoys having visits. It is an Alzheimer’s care facility. We arrive there at 2:30pm and stay there for around an hour. We enjoy singing hymns with them, along with sharing a Bible story on each visit. ‘You shall rise up before the grayheaded and honor the aged, and you shall revere your God; I am the LORD.’ (Leviticus 19:32) How wonderful is it to be able to honor our Father by sharing his message with the ‘grayheaded’?
We have arranged for these witnessing opportunities to fall on the 1st and 3rd Sabbath because they also fall on the days we have potluck. We get to fill our minds with the message of the day, then fill our bellies with healthy food to fuel us with the energy needed to give God and our neighbors the best witness. (Please note, November & December 2017 have a mixed up potluck schedule due to holiday events, if you plan to join us be sure to check the calendar so you know whether to bring a sack lunch or a meal to share.)
If you have more witnessing ideas, we’d love to hear them.
